What is the material of galvanized steel sheet
Release time:2025-02-05
Galvanized sheet is Carbon steel or low-alloy steel
The material of galvanized steel sheet is mainly carbon steel or low-alloy steel.
Galvanized steel plate enhances its rust and corrosion resistance by coating a layer of zinc on the surface of ordinary steel plate. The function of the zinc layer is similar to putting a layer of protective clothing on the steel plate, greatly extending its service life.
The manufacturing process of galvanized steel sheet
The production process of galvanized steel sheet mainly includes two methods: hot-dip galvanizing and electroplating galvanizing:
Hot dip galvanizing: immersing a steel plate in molten zinc solution to form a dense layer of zinc on the surface of the steel plate through chemical reaction. The zinc layer obtained by this method is thicker and has strong corrosion resistance, making it suitable for situations where high corrosion resistance is required.
Electro galvanizing: depositing a layer of zinc on the surface of a steel plate through electrolysis, resulting in a thin but uniform zinc layer, suitable for applications that require high surface quality.
Galvanized steel plates are widely used in various fields due to their excellent characteristics:
Construction industry: used for roofs, balcony panels, window sills, newsstands, warehouses, rolling shutter doors, heaters, rainwater pipes, etc.
Home appliance industry: used for home appliance shells, internal structural components, etc.
Vehicle and vessel manufacturing: used for external coverings and internal structural components of vehicles and vessels.
Container manufacturing industry: used for the manufacturing of various containers and storage tanks.
Mechanical and electrical industry: used for manufacturing various mechanical equipment and industrial components.
Characteristics of galvanized steel sheet
Strong corrosion resistance: Zinc has strong corrosion resistance and can effectively prevent steel from being oxidized, thereby extending the service life of steel.
High surface smoothness: After treatment, the surface of galvanized steel sheet has a very high smoothness and good decorative properties.
Good fire resistance: The surface coating can slow down the spread of flames and protect the safety of buildings.
Excellent processing performance: It can perform various processing techniques such as bending, stamping, and shearing without affecting the overall performance of the steel.
Strong welding performance: able to connect well with other materials, improving the overall strength and corrosion resistance of welded parts.
Good plasticity and toughness: able to adapt to various shapes and deformation requirements while maintaining good mechanical properties.
Good heat resistance: can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments.
